Best AI Visibility Tools for Local Service Businesses (2026)

Eleven AI visibility tools compared for a local service business owner's decision: free one-time checkers, ongoing monitoring dashboards, and one local specialist, with pricing checked in October 2026.

By Mike Scott, Founder of AI Deployment PartnerUpdated October 28, 2026 10 minute comparison

Your next customer may never see your website first. They ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini who to hire, and the answer names a few businesses. If yours is not named, you are out before the conversation starts. AI visibility tools show you that answer: whether you get named, what the AI says about you, and who it names instead. This list covers the ones worth a local service business owner's time, from free one-time checks to dashboards you pay for monthly.

How we picked them, and how we checked

We judged each tool on four things:

  • What it costs to start, and whether there is a free option.
  • Which AI platforms it checks.
  • Whether it was built for a local service business or for national brands.
  • Whether it is a one-time check or ongoing monitoring.

How we checked: in October 2026 we read each vendor's published pricing and offering pages, and ran every free checker ourselves. We did not buy the paid dashboards. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so.

Free instant checkers

AI Deployment Partner Free AI Visibility Checker (ours): best for a free first score, built for service businesses

AI Deployment Partner free AI visibility checker page with the check form
Screenshot from aideploymentpartner.com, October 2026.

This is our own checker, so read it with that in mind. You enter your business, and it asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini the kind of questions your customers ask, then scores you out of 100 on each platform. The scores are labeled on the page as AI-generated estimates, not measured rankings. It is the only free checker on this list with a human-written audit behind it, if you want a person to dig into the results.

Pros:

  • Free, with no subscription and no dashboard to learn.
  • Built for local service businesses, not national brands.

Cons:

  • It is a one-time check, so it will not watch your scores week to week.
  • It comes from us, so weigh it like any vendor's own tool.

Pricing: Free. Checked October 2026.

HubSpot AI Search Grader: best for a free snapshot from a name you already know

HubSpot AI Search Grader page

HubSpot's grader scores how ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini represent your brand across five areas, and rolls it into one score out of 100. It is a one-time check, not tracking. It makes a good neutral baseline before you spend anything.

Pros:

  • Free, and the five-part score explains itself well.
  • A written summary of what the score means, not just a number.

Cons:

  • Built for brands in general, so nothing in it is specific to your town or service area.
  • It is also the front door to HubSpot's paid AEO product and CRM.

Pricing: Free. Checked October 2026.

WolfPack Advising AEO Grader: best for home services that want a second free opinion

WolfPack is a marketing agency for home service companies, and its grader is the free front door. It asks three AI models to score your brand from 0 to 100. If you run an HVAC, plumbing, roofing, or similar trade business, this one was built with you in mind.

Pros:

  • Free and quick, about two minutes.
  • Aimed at home services, so it fits trades better than generic brand tools.

Cons:

  • It is an agency's front door, so expect a pitch for their services after.
  • A one-time snapshot, not ongoing monitoring.

Pricing: Free. Checked October 2026.

Ongoing monitoring dashboards

Otterly.AI: best for starting daily monitoring on a budget

Otterly checks a set of prompts every day and shows whether your business got mentioned and what got cited. The entry plan covers four platforms. Gemini and Google AI Mode cost extra, so check the full price before you commit.

Pros:

  • The lowest published starting price on this list.
  • Simple setup and plain reports an owner can read.

Cons:

  • Only 15 prompts on the entry plan.
  • The extra engines add up fast if you want full coverage.

Pricing: Lite starts at $29/mo for 15 prompts. Checked October 2026.

Peec AI: best for a clean daily number you can watch

Peec AI dashboard

Peec tracks your chosen prompts daily on three AI models you pick, and reports mentions, position, and share of voice against competitors. The main number is easy to read at a glance.

Pros:

  • Clean reporting that does not need training to understand.
  • Unlimited users on every plan.

Cons:

  • You pick only three models on the standard plans.
  • 50 prompts goes fast once you list your real services.

Pricing: Starter is $95/mo for 50 prompts. Checked October 2026.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best for businesses already paying for Semrush

Semrush added AI tracking to its SEO suite. The toolkit watches 25 prompts a day for one domain, and sits next to your regular SEO reports. A limited free checker is also available.

Pros:

  • One login for your SEO and AI visibility numbers.
  • Prompt research and competitor views come with it.

Cons:

  • Priced per domain, so several brands or locations multiply the bill.
  • 25 prompts is a small set for a business with many services.

Pricing: $99/mo per domain, billed annually. Checked October 2026.

Ahrefs Brand Radar: best for finding questions you did not know to ask

Screenshot from ahrefs.com, October 2026.

Brand Radar searches a huge library of AI answers Ahrefs has collected, so you can look up your brand, your competitors, or a whole category without setting up prompts first. Research first, tracking second.

Pros:

  • The pre-built prompt database is the biggest on this list.
  • Strong for competitor research before you commit to tracking.

Cons:

  • It is an add-on, so you pay for an Ahrefs account plus Brand Radar.
  • More tool than a single-location business will use.

Pricing: The AI Visibility Index add-on starts at $199/mo for one platform index. Checked October 2026.

Profound: best for national brands with a real budget

Profound is the enterprise end of this market. Big brands use it to track visibility across up to nine AI engines, with enterprise security and support. It is on this list so you can see where the category tops out, not because a local business needs it.

Pros:

  • The widest engine coverage among the paid dashboards.
  • Enterprise support and security reviews, if your company requires them.

Cons:

  • Sold through a sales process, not a price you can read and buy.
  • Built and priced for national brands, not local ones.

Pricing: Pricing by quote, after a free 7-day trial. Checked October 2026.

Scrunch: best for checking how AI reads your website

Scrunch watches your mentions like the others, and also audits how AI crawlers read your site, where wrong or missing information starts. The Core plan covers four engines and includes five site audits a month. Gemini and Claude sit on the custom Enterprise plan.

Pros:

  • Site audits and AI visitor data the other dashboards skip.
  • Five user seats included on the entry plan.

Cons:

  • $250 a month is a real commitment for one location.
  • Gemini, the engine behind Google's AI answers, needs the custom plan.

Pricing: Core is $250/mo for 125 prompts. Checked October 2026.

AthenaHQ: best for the widest engine coverage, with a free way in

AthenaHQ command center dashboard showing share of voice across AI models

AthenaHQ prices by credits, where one credit buys one AI answer. The free plan gives you 300 credits across five AI models. Paid plans reach 11 models, the widest coverage here, and add tools that suggest fixes instead of only scores.

Pros:

  • A real free plan, not just a short trial.
  • The widest model coverage on the paid plans.

Cons:

  • Credits take some math to predict your monthly cost.
  • The paid jump is steep, from free to $295 a month.

Pricing: Free Essential plan with 300 credits. Starter is $295/mo. Checked October 2026.

The local specialist

BrightLocal Local AI Visibility Tracker: best for local scores next to your local SEO

BrightLocal Local AI Visibility Tracker page

BrightLocal is a local SEO platform first. Its AI tracker is included in every plan and scores each location on up to 20 prompts, lined up against nearby competitors. If you already track reviews and rankings there, everything stays in one place.

Pros:

  • Location-level scores with nearby competitor comparisons.
  • Bundled with the reviews, listings, and rank tracking tools.

Cons:

  • Priced per location, so the bill climbs with every added location.
  • No Perplexity or Gemini coverage yet.

Pricing: Plans start at $31/mo billed annually ($41 monthly), per location. Checked October 2026.

Also worth a look: ZipTie, a configurable tracker with usage-based pricing for teams that set their own engines and check frequency, and Am I on AI?, a simple free scan that answers whether AI names you at all.

Which one fits you

  • You just want to know where you stand. Run a free checker. Ours if you want service-business questions, WolfPack's if you are in home services, HubSpot's if you want a neutral brand name.
  • You will actually look at a dashboard every week. Otterly if budget rules the decision, Peec if you want the cleanest daily number.
  • You run several locations. BrightLocal keeps a score per location next to your reviews and listings.
  • You are a national brand or a franchise head office. Profound, Scrunch, and AthenaHQ are built for your scale, and priced like it.

Start with the free check

Run the free AI visibility checker before you pay for any dashboard. If the result says AI is naming your competitors instead of you, you will know whether the fix is a tool, work on your listings and pages, or both. If you would rather test by hand first, our guide to checking your AI visibility yourself walks through it.

Rather not run software?

Fair. Reading dashboards is a job, and most owners do not need another one. The done-for-you route is a human audit: a person runs the checks, reads what AI says about you and your competitors, and hands you the fixes in plain writing. That is what our AI Opportunity Audit is. Run the free check first either way; it makes the audit sharper if you decide you want one.

Want a second set of eyes?

We can review where AI may help your business, prioritize realistic opportunities, and decide whether the best first step is an integration, an AI workflow, or custom software.
